New York: Vietnam Solidarity Committee, [1969]. 10 x 14 in. Poster / broadside offset printed on recto and verso.

A remarkable poster likening the tactics of the imperial state abroad - in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, the Dominican Republic, and Bolivia - to the tactics of repression exercised domestically in Harlem, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Attention is drawn to the 1968 Chicago police riot and the resulting Conspiracy 8 (later Chicago 7) trial, demonstrations at Fort Dix and the government repression of the Black Panther Party in New Haven, and Los Siete de la Raza - Mexican-American organizers in Los Angeles framed for murder. Readers are asked to join in an anti-war demonstration at Foley Square.

“IT TAKES A WAR TO STOP A WAR! … Free Huey Newton! Free Martin Sostre! Free Los Siete De Raza! Free the Panther women! Free the Conspiracy 8! FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS. NOW!”

Some edge wear and fold lines from folding into eighths. Evidence of shoe marks to verso. Bearing the signs of use, this example doubtlessly distributed, read, and perhaps even brought to the protest; good only, an artifact of demonstration.
