Broadside for a demonstration on International Anti-War Day, August 1, 1935 in Elmira, New York. Organized by the Elmira Unemployment Council, a local Communist Party affiliate. Illustrated with a remarkable image of a capitalist war profiteer, a gas masked soldier, and a skeleton. Elmire is notable as the site of a Civil War prison camp which grew into one of the first reformatories in the country, a late 19th century prison reform.
